Backpack Drive
September is the time of new beginnings, new opportunities and excitement for children as they head back to school for the new year. Having the right tools is not only instrumental in setting the tone for learning but is also essential for the confidence and self-esteem of young children. Each year the local schools have a large number of children that come to school on the first day without backpacks and/or supplies. The school identifies these children. They come from a variety of backgrounds such as single parent homes, families dealing with addiction, large families, Refugee and Immigrant families. The Saheli Foundation has committed to providing 100 fully loaded back packs for these children each year! We are very grateful to the South Surrey Staples partnering with us in this venture!
