Working with the Surrey School Board and through our partnership with Staples, we were able to provide 100 primary and intermediate students with fully-loaded backpacks, containing all the supplies they need for the entire school year! Having the right tools to learn is instrumental in setting the tone for the entire year but unfortunately, many local children do not have access to these necessary supplies.
Students who are unprepared are less likely to have a promising school year than their peers. Often, being able to go to school with a backpack full of supplies is all that some children need to stay on track. We are so thankful for being able to once again ensure that more students got a bright and equal start to the school year.
A big thank you to our volunteers who personally packed and delivered these backpacks.
Above all we are very grateful to all our donors. We could not have reached our goal without the generous support from the community. We would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s backpack drive – it is because of you that we are able to do take on this endeavour year after year – so thank you!
